XT890 (Intel Atom Z2480 Medfield - SSE2/3 support) here. Right now I am using the current DTS SS3 build (1.7.14), which works without a flaw with MX Player 1.7.15a. The SoC in my device supports SSE3 - therefore I guess, I chose the right one - but - and I hope my questions are not too off-topic: Can you say as a rule of thumb: 'There are benefits (in terms of optimization) in choosing the highest device-supported instruction-set build'.
I'm asking this, because the player initially doesn't suggest the official SS2 build and automatically redirects me to the standard 'x86' labeled codec. Edit: My fault, sorry - seems the 'standard x86' contains SS3 instructions. So the only remaining question is: Are there any known changes or is there a reason (maybe cosmetic?), why the official non-DTS builds have the version number 1.7.15a?
Thanks in advance for any input, Cheers.
